Four members of the Sidmouth Tennis Club’s under-8 section made their competition debut in the Aegon Team tennis competition held in Exmouth.
Charley Turley, Oscar Parkinson, Tom Barrett and Thomas Fletcher made their way through the round-robin rounds before playing a third-place decider.
The final scores certainly did not reflect the action as the youngsters were involved in a series of wonderful contests with some fantastic winning points and rallies combined with a good understanding of match play.
The team fought valiantly and only narrowly missed out on third place in the competition. Though disappointed, they all learned from the match experience and enjoyed the day.
