Meanwhile, the ladies’ A team secured a 5-4 win against Exeter Golf and Country Club, closely followed by an 8-1 win against Torquay.

The ladies’ B team, represented by Marlene Maynard and Sarah Peacock together with Kate Truman and Vici Topping bagged a clean sweep 8-0 victory when they visited Kingsteignton on Saturday.

Such was the dominance enjoyed by the Sidmouth ladies that they only dropped a dozen game sin the entire match.

Sadly, the men’s B team have not fared quite so well in recent matches and suffered another loss against Victoria Park where, despite there being a number of close games, they failed to secure a set, losing 0-8.
