With an age range from a tender ten to a grand eighty, young and old were paired off into eight couples, split into two divisions, the aim being to win as many games as possible against each opposing pair.

The games were tallied up at the end and the winners of each division played off in the final. The matches were played in a great spirit, but with every point counting there was no lack of competitiveness.

Much ‘oohing and aahing’ was heard as the “teams” battled it out until the eventual winners, mother and son combination of Kate and Ollie Truman prevailed over runners-up Di Kendall-Torry and Louie Spalding. It proved to be a most enjoyable afternoon, plenty of tea and cake or bar refreshments were available but a big thank you is due to Debbie Snelgrove, Junior Coordinator, for organising it, especially as she was suffering from severe sleep deprivation having only arrived back from holiday in the early hours of the morning.
