Sidmouth Toucans returned to action and competed well against Signs South West (SSW) before going down by just five goals.

The ladies had been scheduled to resume their league campaign the week before, but rain washed out the game and they travelled to Honiton in more bad weather which, thankfully, has settled by the time the match began.

Despite the slippery conditions the play was good from both teams and the first quarter saw the sides trade goal for goal with Toucans trailing 9-8 at the first break.

It was the second quarter that proved the decisive one in terms of the games outcome and SSW went on to close out a 36-31 victory.

Both teams picked up 10 fair play points and Louise Neilson, who ended the game with a bloody knee, was named the Toucans Player of the Match.
