After heading the table since week one Sidmouth Toucans became the last team to lose their 100 per record when they fell to OPG, writes Graham Ingram.
By half way OPG had almost wiped out their handicap deficit to start the third quarter 27-29 in arrears and by the start of the final quarter were 43-30 in front, ending the game with a 53 -34 win. It was Kirsty Wackley who was the OPG star whilst Rachel Darlami caught the eye for the Toucans.
To go top Flamingos had to record a win over Howden Hawks, and one big enough to better the Sidmouth goal difference. Like OPG the Flamingos were almost back on terms at half way and from there moved ahead of Hawks to win by 54-39 despite some good attacking play from Nicky Vile for Hawks. Once again it was the mid court play of Trish Warwick for Flamingos that proved decisive.
Tip Top Trees started their game against Otter Valley Dairy looking for their first win. By half way they had drawn level at 41-41 thanks to fine play from Laura Dale. Rosanne Dyer kept the Dairy working and 3Ts had to fight for every goal but eventually held on to win by 54-48.
Signs South West had a good evening when they came up against Pixies. Despite starting 18-30 behind they were 40-34 ahead at half way and from there they didn’t look back. With Debbie Wheeler having a great game they were too strong for Pixies despite the efforts of Sara Benson. The final result was a 68-38 win for SSW.

The second quarter was close with Uplowman closing the gap by 2 goals to 28-38. With Vicky Channings doing well for Uplowman they were just three behind at 37-40 going into the final period. This was a cracking final session with Uplowman finally edging past JD Tyres to win by 49-47.
Once again it was unfortunate that Water Babes were unable to fulfil their fixture against Hi Q so it accordance with league rules Hi Q were awarded three points whilst the Babes had three deducted.
