Sidmouth Toucans show signs of improvement in SW Signs defeat.

Sidmouth Toucans put in a much improved performance before slipping to a 50-15 defeat against SW Signs, writes Alexa Baker.

The players got quite a shock when they arrived at Colyton for the match with fire engines and firemen in situ! However they were not there to watch the game – they were on duty practising!

SW signs made a slick start and powered into a 15-1 lead.

With GS Helen Terry back under the net Toucans were confident they would top the nine goals they scored the week before.

With the attacking duo of Sarah Sparks, GA, and Caroline Biggs, WA, feeding the ball into Terry the Toucans did just that!

Rachel Darlami once again showed her superb fitness from the centre berth. She is an invaluable asset to the defence who struggled at times with back line passes.

Sarah Burstan and Louise Neilson, shared GK and GD duties and were both kept on their toes throughout the game with the latter managing to stay injury free!

Lesley Hall made her Toucans debut as WD, finding her feet quickly in this fast paced game.

Both teams were awarded ten fair play points and Sarah Sparks walked away with player of the match for the second week running. The final score of 50-15 was certainly an improvement for Toucans on their previous outing.
