Sidmouth Toucans win again
Honiton Netball League - Toucans continue to lead the division.
Division Two: NAS Vehicle Repairs 13, St Mary's 18; Bampton 41, CMC Birds 8; Flamingos B 34, Tip Top Trees Acorns 19; ADP 24,Sidmouth Toucans 33.Whilst Flamingos B and Sidmouth Toucans continue to lead the division, it was Bampton who were the biggest gainers with their win over CMC Birds moving them back into third place. With Claire Leysham playing well, Bampton were too strong for the Birds who suffered their fourth defeat in a row. Julia Mallon once again played well for CMC, but the points went to Bampton for their 41-8 win.Flamingos B met the improving Tip Top Trees Acorns and the first quarter was close with Flamingos going 11-7 up. With Cress Auckland doing well for Flamingos they went 21-13 ahead at half way. The third quarter was more even and Grace McKay for Acorns did well as the scoring was even. The final period was Flamingos however, as they finished winners by 34-19. Sidmouth Toucans, had a tough game on their hands against ADP, but they came through strongly thanks to some good play from Sarah Sparks. Lisa Bevan played well for ADP in a thrilling, close game. First ADP led 7-6, and then Toucans went 15-13 up. Whilst the third period was also close, the Toucans gained an extra goal advantage to go 22-19 in front before ending the game winners by 33-24. St Mary's gained their first win so far when they came up against NAS. NAS took an early 5-4 lead, but, by half way the Saints were 10-8 up. Then NAS came back and going into the final period it was all square at 12-12 before St Mary's took the advantage to win 18-13. Rhoda Wilkins at GA had been their best player whilst Sarah Green was the NAS star.
