Sidmouth Town stage an East Devon derby today (Good Friday) when they entertain Budleigh Salterton (11am), writes Steve Birley.
The Vikings have slipped dangerously low in the South West Peninsula League, Eastern Division table of late and, with six games left in their campaign, they sit a single point off the foot of the table!
There’s little doubt that the team are ‘better’ than their current league position suggests! However, as manager Paddy Thomas would, be the first to admit, no matter how strong you look on paper you still have to deliver on the pitch.
After the derby they play a swift return with Budleigh on April 26, then go to University (April 29) and complete the month with a March 31 trip to Appledore.
They complete their season with two home games; first they host Teignmouth on May 5 and then Liverton on May 10.
