Sidmouth Town face the daunting prospect of a game at South West Peninsula League, Eastern Division title-favourites Stoke Gabriel on Saturday.
The Vikings were without action last weekend and a win for Axminster Town saw them slip to third bottom of the table with five games left in the campaign.
Avoiding a bottom two finish clearly depends on them winning at least one of their last five and, if all else fails it may even go down to a final game of the season ‘show down’ when they make a May 10 visit to current basement dwellers Liverton United.
After Saturday’s trip to Stoke Gabriel Town have back-to-back meetings with sixth placed Budleigh Salterton.
They host the Robins at Manstone Lane on Good Friday (11am) and then go to Greenway Lane for a swift return on Saturday, April 26.
Their penultimate outing is a Tuesday, April 29 visit to Exeter University before that May 10 home meeting with Liverton.
