Sidmouth Town boss Paddy Thomas is hoping his miss-firing Vikings can hit the mark in Saturday’s Manstone Lane meeting with Crediton United.

Thomas missed the game in Mid Devon in late September when illness kept him from the 2-0 defeat his team suffered.

Last Saturday the Vikings bagged a richly deserved point from a visit to Totnes and Dartington, but Thomas felt it should have been their third win of the season.

He said: “I am afraid we once again paid the price for missing chances. We are not talking half-chances either. The story of our season so far has been missed gilt-edged opportunities. There’s nothing wrong with our general play. Where we come unstuck is in our finishing and if we could get that right we’d have far more positive results.”

With a regular 20 senior players at midweek training there’s plenty of effort going in behind the scenes to get Town moving up the South West Peninsula table. Now what the Vikings boss wants to see is better finishing and perhaps it will all kick-start from tomorrow afternoon!
