SIDMOUTH Town have been given an interesting start to their cup life as a member of the South West Peninsula league.
The Vikings have been drawn away to Alphington in the first round of the Throgmorton Cup which is effectively the league cup for the Peninsula league.
Should the newboys make progression Exeter on Saturday, September 17 then they will have a home toe to the winners of the Ottery St Mary versus Exmouth Town tie.
Other East Devon ties see Axminster Town tasked with a 1st Round meeting at Sector Lane against fellow Eastern Division side Crediton United
Budleigh Salterton begin their bid for honours with 1st Round tie at home to fellow Eastern Division outfit, Exeter Civil service with the winners then having the difficult task of travelling to the holders , Buckland Athletic, in the 2nd Round on October 15.
Jody Bolt’s Exmouth Town begin their challenge with a 1st Round, East Devon derby at Washbrook Meadow, Ottery St Mary with the winners the possible 2nd round opponents for Sidmouth Town.
The Royal Marines AFC have been drawn away to Eastern Division side Bickleigh with the winners of that tie facing a trip to either Axminster Town or Crediton United.
