Sidmouth Town FC have managed to set up a rather unique sponsorship.

The Vikings have secured a regular supply of Jaffa cakes to be used as energy boosters by the team on match days.

Tesco’s in Sidmouth are the sponsors involved.

Town boss Josh Stunell says: “At Town we are attempting to be as professional as possible and maintaining energy levels is essential. The fact that Jaffa cakes are low in fat and high in carbohydrates is a perfect snack to assist with energy levels and that’s something we are keen to be keeping an eye on before and during matches. I am delighted that Tesco’ have offered to support the football club in this way.

Recently the club played host to representatives fro Tesco’s Sidmouth where the first batch of Jaffa cakes was handed over. At the formal agreement signing were Town boss Josh Stunell, his assistant John Clements, Town players Joe Miller and Jamie Newberry and Tesco Sidmouth store manager Samantha Jones and duty manager Helen Collins.
