Sidmouth Town Reserves went joint top of Fresha League Division One early on Saturday afternoon after their match with Heavitree United Reserves was a cancelled.

With the Exeter side unable to raise a team it meant the points were awarded to the Vikings second team and they moved to 31 points from 15 games, level with long-time table-toppers Exmouth Amateurs.

There’s cup action next for the Town Reserves as they travel to Heavitree - ironically the same side who could not raise a team for the Manstone lane Fresha League fixture – in a n East Devon Senior Cup quarter-final tie.

With nine league games remaining Town are very much in the hunt for one of the three places that carry possible promotion to the Premier Division of the Fresha League.
