Sidmouth Town 15, Beacon Knights 1 Sidmouth Town Under-13s have been scoring goals for fun this season and even a new pitch did not stop the goals flowing.

Playing at Sidmouth College for the first time the youngsters took the Exeter-based visitors to the cleaners and, in the process, took their season’s goal count to a whopping 126 in just 14 matches!

The first half display was as good as anything the team has delivered this season and whilst the goal count was only four, the quality of the play was of the highest order.

Jay Harris had a superb half on the left being provider for the first goal which was knocked in by Louis Spalding and then scoring two himself, the first from a Tom Moore through ball and the second from a neat Jack Miller lay off. Just before half-time the outstanding Moore was brought down in the penalty area. His first spot kick beat the keeper only for the referee to order a re-take and Moore promptly tucked the second effort away too!

After the break it was the visitors who scored first, but this only served to invite a response from the Vikings youngsters that was both ruthless and clinical!

Harris netted next to become one of three hat-trick scorers in the game. Man of the Match Moore bagged two more to compete his treble. First he rifled a 25-yard shot home and then he thumped a 20-yard free-kick into the net.

Miller was the third of the hat-trick scorers whilst the other goals were shared out amongst the team with Sam Fernly and Ollie Truman demonstrating how rarely they score by not knowing quite how to celebrate!

Toby Garrick and Louis Spalding both scored cracking goals from outside the area to leave the management team on cloud nine after a terrific performance.

With four games to play the team are not only looking certainties for promotion, but also look well equipped to be able to mix it with the very best teams in Division One next season.
