Sidmouth 1, Exeter Civil Service 4 Sidmouth Under-15s were hit by unavailability and injury as they slipped to a disappointing defeat at the hands of reigning Exeter and District Youth league champions Exwick Villa.

Sidmouth started well with Jacob Rowe and Tyler Wellman prominent, but chances were few and far between.

When the visitors did threaten, Jamie Newbery and his makeshift defence of Dylan King, Alex Stone and Ben Miller made sure that keeper Jake Sellick had a quiet first half.

After the break, with the visitors influential midfielder (who kept goal I the first half), now on the pitch, they began to be more dangerous and it was from one of his runs that the deadlock was broken.

Sidmouth responded well and, after a superb exchange of passes between Rowe and Joe Miller, Ben Miller was released and he rifled a sweet shot into the corner of the net.

The visiting team came back strongly and regained the lead when taking advantage of some missed tackle!

The game continued to flow from end to end. Both Rowe and Ben Miller spurned chances to level again for Sidmouth before, late on Civil added two further goals to bank the points.

Rowe and Newbery were the stand-out players for the home side, but al eleven of the lads on duty put in a healthy shift.
