Sidmouth Under-11s travelled to Taunton School to take part in a special coaching session followed by a mini tournament, writes Mark Williams.

Also in attendance were Wellington, Chard, Taunton and the school team.

The coaching was first class and it was great to see our boys concentrating and listening to every word!

The tournament was made up of four twelve minute games. An extra team was created using players from each club Lions style, and, as it turned out they swept all before them with the three players from Sidmouth contributing practically all their tries!

Overall the main Sidmouth team only lost one game and that was through three tries scored by their own team mates!

The main team, despite the loss to the Lions played some impeccable rugby.

The Player of the Day award from the Sidmouth team went to Toby Neumegen. These were all teams who we had not played before, but all will now be very aware of us especially Wellington who we play for real next week.

If you are in year six and fancy playing we are always looking for new players so come along and give it a try, details on www.sidmouthrfc.co.uk
