Given the torrential rain and the heavy mud underfoot the crowd were not expecting free flowing adventurous rugby, however no one told either team as they both put on a fantastic display of confident passing and exciting attacking rugby.

The difference between the two sides was the Sidmouth defence, thanks to unrelenting tackling by the entire team and the ever-present George Bower at the breakdown.

In attack, Jack Hall’s safe hands and strong running opened up the Ivybridge defence with Eddie Eul-Brown, Freddie Trim and Milo Barret constantly putting Ivybridge on the back foot.

It is impossible to name all the players especially as the mud made them indistinguishable by the end, but it was probably the best team performance so far this season.
