A mixed U9 Sidmouth RFC team did themselves and the club proud at the Devon U9 rugby festival held at Collumpton.

This was their first festival encounter and the atmosphere was buzzing with over 30 clubs represented from across the County. Sidmouth worked hard in defence, pulling together as a great team and showing lots of courage. The U9’s scored some fantastic team tries, making some great offloading passes and support play.

A great experience for the players, who got better with each game as their confidence grew, playing fearlessly but with a smile on their faces. As their first contact season draws to an end, the players and coaches have a lot to be proud of.

A huge thank you to their coaches Gethin Jones and Adam Squance and to the parents for their pitch-side support! The team of 11 included Sonny, Jamie, Ruben, Leo, Jamie, Oly, Jack, Beryl, Lily, Rhiannon and Scarlett.
