Sidmouth 33, Exmouth 21 Sidmouth Under-11s ensured normal service was resumed as they scored five tries in a fine all-round performance, writes Mark Williams.

Following the previous weekend’s trials and tribulations it was with some trepidation that the 14 on duty looked at the size of the opposition as they pitched up at Sidford.

Having discussed what happened last week with the players we were greatly pleased to see that they had listened and came out of the blocks like rockets tackling anything in a purple shirt with such gusto there were even a couple of tackles made before the Exmouth players had the ball. This defence led to several turnovers which in turn showed the most pleasing aspect of the game seeing the ball passed with speed and accuracy down the line to create the space to score.

Tries by Charlie, Richie, Tom, Will and Thomas four of which were converted by Charlie and Thomas secured the victory by the final score of 33 - 21.

Exmouth provided strong opposition and credit to them for making a real game of it which all watching thoroughly enjoyed.
