Sidmouth Under-11s travelled to Topsham on Sunday in perfect rugby conditions and continued their recent good form.

Playing up the significant slope Sidmouth scored first, but then spent the bulk of the first quarter defending as their hosts dominated proceedings, scoring two tries in the process.

Parity was achieved in the second quarter, though, as Sidmouth improved their tackling and rucking, scoring two well-deserved tries while conceding one.

With injuries causing disruption and again playing uphill Sidmouth came under real pressure in the third quarter, but their resolute defence, strong running and excellent support play enabled them to score twice to match their opponents in what was now becoming a high-scoring match.

Turning around once more for the last quarter, Sidmouth then hit their straps!

With scrums and line outs now functioning well and dominance at the breakdown established they were able to put together some flowing rugby, running in four further unanswered tries.

It was another impressive all-round performance, and credit must be given to the hosts also for their contribution to such a fine match.
