Sidmouth 44, Chard 7 Sidmouth Under-11s were in great form as they brushed aside the visitors with an emphatic all-round display.

The teams had faced each other earlier in the season at a Taunton School, Festival and so the young Chiefs were aware of the Chard threat from a big pack with some quick runners in the backs.

It was agreed to play four quarters to allow both squads to give every player plenty of game time. Looking at the opposition at the start it looked like it was going to be a tough encounter however the players did not share our concerns and raced into the lead with practically the first play of the game and kept the pressure on the finish the first quarter 14-0 up.

With tremendous vocal support from the Sidmouth parents and, having got the full measure of which Chard players needed careful watching and which ones they could pressure into mistakes, Sidmouth continued to dominate the match with aggressive defence and clever, inventive, and ultimately incisive attacking, keeping the score board ticking over justifying the final score.

Another great effort from the boys who are improving every week. We are expecting International scouts very soon!
