Sidmouth immediately showed they’re going to make formidable opponents for anyone they face. There was a huge commitment to defence and some of the tackling was outstanding.
Particular mention must go to Ayla Burrow, whose tenacity in the tackle. Ally Scott was a complete natural moving with power and pace to the try line, as well as a strong and effective tackler.
In attack, the teamwork and resolve of the girls was equally exceptional. An amazing offload in the tackle by Isla Thomas at full-sprint led to a try in the corner by Izzy Davies.
Summer Howe’s excellent running lines and fierce tackling make her look like she’s played the game for years.
The elusive side-stepping and pace shown by Maddie Russell was another highlight and Isla Thomas on the wing was first-class leading to multiple successes. The powerful and direct running lines of Liv Stanley was amazing, while Isabel Wood appears to simply refuse to be tackled!
