Sidmouth Under-14s shared ten goals with West Exe in a thrilling Exeter and District Youth League meeting played at Sidford.

Sidmouth had trailed 5-3 with 10 minutes remaining, but ended up with honours even and that was no more than they deserved.

The quality of the goals scored was exceptional with Thomas West, Ollie Jones, Cole Monaghan, Jake Jones and Jacob Spencer all finding the back of the Exeter side’s net!

The fact that the team were able to mount such a recovery speaks volumes for the strength of character and resolve in this particular Sidmouth side. Once again glovesman Isaac James showed a terrific awareness and he also made some smart saves. There were some terrific displays amongst the defenders, none more so than the Man of the Match shift from Dylan Lascelles. Young Lascelles got great support in defensive duties from Louis Stamp, Jamie Wyant, Thomas West and Scott Gibson .

Further forward the midfield; Cole Monaghan, Josh Roberts, George Salter, Ben Latham, Jacob Spencer and Will Lorkin all worked their socks off to keep pace with an impressive West Exe side.
