Sidmouth 51 Crediton 0 Having been knocked out of the Devon Cup Sidmouth Under-15s were keen to get back on the rugby field and exorcise the memory, writes Chris Robinson.

Sidmouth were very motivated! Crediton had a very large pack, but smaller wide players and Sidmouth knew that if they could get quick ball to their backs then that was where the game would be won.

There were some bruising encounters for the first five minutes, but Sidmouth’s superior counter rucking soon proved decisive.

Kennaugh was completely dominant and Crediton were unable to stop his momentum in the first half.

He scored from his own kick ahead and then set up Hill for Sidmouth’s second. Sidmouth were irrepressible by now and quick hands from Allen saw Lau dive over for the first of his hat trick. Kennaugh scored the fourth and set up the fifth for Goodier on his debut. Credit must go to Goodier for excellent support play and he was the beneficiary of the last try of the half, when Kennaugh generously off loaded over the try line! The second half saw a few substitutions, but Sidmouth’s pack was still dominant. This meant Lau could score two more and Innes-Kruger also scored. Allen converted three of the nine tries and though the backs scored all the tries they should be very grateful to their forwards who worked very hard all match to provide those opportunities for them.
