There were mixed fortunes for the Sidmouth Under-15 Sunday side as they first defeated Colyton, but then slipped to a heavy defeat at the hands of Honiton.

Playing their first East Devon Youth League game for two months they powered their way to a 7-1 success against Colyton.

Joe Miller was the star of the show with four goals and there were also two from Connor Murphy and one from Jamie Newbery.

This win leaves Sidmouth on the verge of being crowned champions.

With four games to play, one of which is against basement side Milwey Rise who have failed to win a single game this term, they need just three points to seal another Sunday League title.

The defeat came in the JG Memorial Cup semi-final at the hands of Honiton Town.

Sidmouth have a great chance to exact revenge for a 7-1 reversal when the sides meet again on each of the next two Sundays, first in the league and then in another east Devon Youth League last four tie.
