The continuing wet weather has left much of the entire Exeter and District Youth League inactive since the start of the year!

In terms of our local teams; Sidmouth Under-16s play in Division One which has seen not a single match played since Saturday, December 14!

The last time Sidmouth took to the pitch was the week before that when they lost 7-2 at Crediton Saints who are their next home opponents when the Mid Devon side visit Sidmouth on March 1. That March 1, outing will be the team’s first at home since a November 23rd meeting with Feniton who, ironically, are the teams opponents should, tomorrows league programme avoid more weather disruption. Given that the Acland Park ground has been staging action when other pitches have been waterlogged the Under-16s are likely to finally play their first game of 2014 tomorrow!

In Under-16 Division Two which has also seen not one ball kicked I anger since December 14, Ottery St Mary have not played since a 4-3 win at Central in Exeter on that match day eleven days before Christmas! The last time the Otters played at home was back on November 30 and tomorrow they are in action at Pinhoe Warriors who they will be seeking to complete a double over as they beat the Exeter side 4-3 when the sides met in Ottery on November 23.

In the Under-15 Division One Sidmouth Under-15s have not played a league game since November 30 when they lost 3-1 at Exwick Villa. They of course played a Devon County Cup tie which has set them up with an all Exeter Youth League semi-final against Alphington with the likelihood of facing Marldon in the final the prize for the winners of that particular match.

Just two matches have been played in the entire Under-15 section since December 14 and both those were played at Broadclyst! Indeed in the section there have been just nine matches played since November 30, a period of ten weeks! If the weather permits the Under-15s to play tomorrow’s league game with West Exe Youth it will be their first league outing at home since way back on November 16.

In Under-15 Division Two only five games have been played since Saturday, December 7. Two of those have been played in Exeter and one each in Exmouth, Dawlish and at Kentisbeare in Mid Devon.

The last time Ottery St Mary Under-15s played a league game was on November 30 and a 2-2 draw at Pinhoe Spartans. The last home game for the Otters was back on November 16 when they lost 4-1 to Dawlish. Tomorrow the Otters hope to finally return to home action when they entertain Exeter-based Central.

In the Under-14 Division One there have been no games played since December 14 and only nine matches completed since the match day on October 26!
