Sidmouth Under-7s were engaged in a series of terrific matches at a chilly Teignmouth.

With 20 players available to them, Sidmouth were much better staffed for the meeting than the hosts who were only able to muster a single team.

However, Teignmouth always provide a very warm welcome and their after match catering fayre is some of the best in the area!

In terms of the outcome, six matches were played and Sidmouth teams had mixed fortunes, but were able to impress with some good basic rugby skills. The end result was the fairest to both sides in a draw, especially with all games being played back-to-back so that everybody stayed warm on such a cold day!

The Sidmouth Player of the Day honour was awarded to Henry Ritchie who provided an entertaining display of precision passing, top rate tagging whilst also sharing the captaincy.

There was also notable play from Maddie Russell, Elsie Wiltshire, Jack Clarkson and the Burston Brothers Jake and Oscar who teamed up to run in a number of well-worked tries.

Next up for the young Sidmouth players is a meeting with Honiton.
