Sidmouth Under-8s rounded off the rugby season in fine form at the Devon Tag Festival held at Ivybridge RFU last Sunday, writes Rob Bolton.
With perfect weather conditions and high spirits the squad brought together all the skills they have acquired over the last eight months to win three of the four pool matches against Ivybridge, Devonport and Teignmouth before a draw with Barnstaple.
Strength in attack was the key to success, with some fantastic ball handling and multiple running passes at pace piercing the opposition’s defensive lines.
The day finished on a high with all players in very high spirits which will cement a strong foundation for the squad to venture into the realms of contact rugby next season!
A big thank you to all who have helped out during the season to make what has been a disjointed year due to wet weather conditions finish with a resounding bang!
