Sidmouth Under-8s took on their counterparts from Cullompton.

Sidmouth Green won one and drew the other two of their games against much-improved Cully opposition.

There was a great display of rugby from both sets of players with not a lot to separate the sides including plays where the ball was turned over by both sides before a try was scored.

Reece Hext was quick to capitalise on turnover ball running the length of the pitch to score. An improving awareness to pass the ball from all players resulted in some well-taken tries with Matthew Thomas, Jack Pugh, Sam Hartland, Leon Rowley and Archie Rowcliffe all scoring whilst there was also some particularly strong tagging from Toby Sanford

The Sidmouth red team played three games, winning two and drawing one. Some great tagging followed by good offloads helped everyone to get their hands on the ball and subsequently score tries. Particular mentions go to Charlie Turley for his speed that led him to scoring some individual tries and Alec Bagwell and Tom Bird using the long pass to those out wide in space. By the final game our line speed was much better which put pressure on a good Cullompton team. Zac and Lucca Arver and Ellie Monro Higgs again proved their metal in defense repeatedly making follow on tackles that lead to great turnover ball which allowed Herbie Isherwood and Ben Brook to score some great tries.
