The Upper Crust Monday Stableford was won this week with one of the best scores of the season, writes John Barnard.

There were 20 players that scored 37 points or more, but leader of the pack with a fantastic 45 points was Tony Wilson. It meant his handicap was reduced by three shots to 19 and not surprising with seven pars and a birdie in his round.

In second place, was Craig Melluish, with his usual round of peaks and troughs. Five birdies off his handicap of 10 is good going, but a no score on the easy 13th and a double bogie on hole 16 knocked him back as well. Jeremy Holden is playing well at the moment and an eagle on the 13th and a birdie on 17, meant a great back nine was on the cards, but a no score on the last messed things up so he had to settle for third on countback with 40 points.

As of last week, Kym White still leads the Upper Crust Bakery Monday Eclectic, just point-three of a mark ahead of Moray Bosence in second place and Steve Crabb third a further point-four behind.
