The Uppercrust Monday Stableford competition threw up some excellent scores despite the hot and dry conditions it was played in, writes Hugh Dorliac.
Marc Jenkins won last week with a creditable points score of 40, with Chris Grubb and John Jones close behind on 39 points. All three saw their handicaps cut by one stroke.
Even more remarkable was this week’s winner, Rob Brookshaw with a mighty eight under par 44 which earned him top prize and a hefty four stroke deduction including a stroke for consistent high scoring over recent weeks.
He will be playing off 22 for a while now, or maybe not! Stuart Coles in second place on 40 and Colston Herbert on 39 points and both lost a stroke off their handicap.
The Sidmouth Jewellers Friday Stableford was won by Kevin Legg with a more modest 36 points followed by Bob Andrews and Andy Pryke, both on 34 points apiece.
