Sidmouth Warriors Under-9s claimed two impressive wins against Lympstone and Brixington.
Against Lympstone they made another confident start passing the ball with real conviction and quality and led 2-0 at half-time through goals from Eul-Barker and Oliver Beech. After the break Beech bossed the midfield and further goals arrived with Charlie Roberts netting two whilst Ewan Badcock and Gabriel Roberts scored one each as Warriors won 6-1.
Next up against a bigger and stronger Brixington side, but Eul-Barker and Beech quickly seized control of the middle third and goals from Charlie Roberts and Ben Fisher gave Warriors an interval lead.
In the second half the opposition came back strongly, forcing two fine saves from keeper Freddie Roberts, but Warriors held firm and added two more goals through Eul-Barker and Oliver Loosemore to complete a 4-0 victory.
In the corresponding fixtures last season Warriors only banked a point, so a brace of wins this time is further evidence of the continuing improvement of Mark Badcock’s young team.
