Sidmouth Warriors Under-11s put in a terrific battling display at home to the Division One table-toppers CS Pumas before being edged out 2-0.
An early injury to pacey striker Tim Goody was a blow to the Warriors’ cause but the whole team stepped up to the challenge.
A strong and well organised Pumas team enjoyed the majority of possession, but the Warriors’ defence, marshalled by sweeper Benedict Teague, gave little away.
The difference on the day proved to be two fine strikes from the edge of the box that sealed the away win, but Warriors, to a player, contributed much to a fine game.
