Sidmouth Warriors Under-11s were 5-4 winners against Okehampton Argyle in an Exeter and District Youth League Division One game that was just as much a roller-coaster of a contest as the Town youngsters seem to have been making a habit of being involved in this season.

Warriors made their now customary sluggish start and the visitors took advantage going into an early lead. Parity was restored courtesy of a speculative long-range effort from the touchline which eluded the Okehampton gloves man.

Benedict Teague’s mazy run ended with him finding Joe Ashby who applied a polished finished to send Warriors into the break 2-1 up. A similar start to their first half show saw Warriors ship two early goals to fall 3-2 down. Tim Goody equalised for the Warriors who then took control of the game only to concede a fourth! However, all season long the Warriors character has never been doubted and once again they rose to the occasion with Goody rifling home the equaliser to make it 4-4. There was still time for Warriors to launch one more attack and Samuel Rice smashed the ball home to seal a thrilling victory.
