Sidmouth Warriors Under-12 entertained local rivals Honiton Devils and saw them off to the tune of a 7-3 victory thanks to a scintillating first-half display.
Some of the Warriors’ passing in the first half was a joy to behold!
With Stanley Richardson orchestrating things from midfield goals from Samuel Rice and Tim Goody put them into a 2-0 lead.
Joe Ashby took to the pitch midway through the first half and had a hat-trick by half time!
With a few positional changes made at the break, the second half saw a closer contest. The Warriors did add another brace via the right boots of Richardson and Goody before Honiton pulled back two goals late on.
Warriors coach Justin Ashby said: “This was Sidmouth’s best performance for a long time and a just reward for plenty of hard work in training. An exciting season lies ahead for the boys playing this way!”
