Whipton 2, Sidmouth Warriors 2 City Raiders 0, Sidmouth Warriors 5 Sidmouth Warriors Under-9s were unbeaten across their latest two matches in the Exeter and District Youth League, writes Chris Roberts.
First up against Whipton, Warriors made a bright start and Charlie Roberts fired them into an early lead. The Exeter side stormed back, scored twice and took a narrow advantage into the half-time interval. During the break manager Mark Badcock made some tactical changes and they worked a treat for Warriors began the second half on the front foot.
However, they found a Whipton defence in no mood to concede! After a lot of huffing and puffing and more than a few chances being missed Warriors finally got the goal their second half endeavours warranted when, with seconds remaining Gabriel Roberts rifled a right foot shot into the top corner!
With confidence on a high following their late leveller Warriors then took on City Raiders and served up a heavy-weight treat!
There was slick passing, clinical finishing and lots of industry all over the pitch! A Ewan Badcock brace sent them into half-time with a 2-0 lead. In the second half Freddie Eul-Barker struck twice before Gabriel Roberts wrapped things up to complete an emphatic success.
