The second of the winter Monday Stableford qualifiers was won by Ray Gunston with an impressive 40 points, writes Hugh Dorliac.
Ray’s score was made all the impressive given the prevailing wet weather.
He, and everybody he plays against, were rewarded by seeing his handicap finally being chipped away to 20.
There will be few other opportunities to improve handicaps before the weather deteriorates and qualifiers are suspended for the winter, so the third hole will be a different place for Ray without that extra shot!
In second place was Bob Winstone on 37 and third place went to Alan Billinghurst with 35 points.
