Archant

The Sidmouth Devon Over-50s Yellow team continued their splendid season with a brace of victories, writes Susie Bonnell.

First up the ladies entertained Exonia on what was a beautiful day. The match, played in a wonderful setting with the home green at is pristine best, combined sunshine, good friendship and some excellent bowling – what could possible be better?

The result was a home win with all six points banked. Next up, the Yellows had an early start for their trip to Starcross which, of course, took in the most helpful ‘team bonding’ pre-match team luncheon at the splendid Anchor Inn, Cockington (and we won’t disclose the names of the two ladies who enjoyed a glass of wine - still going on to win on their rink).

A super time was had by all - boosted by a win on both rinks, securing another full house of six points.

Playing bowls on a beautiful day in a great setting with really nice people - what a wonderful way to spend a day.

Sidmouth Blues have also been in great form as they underlined with a six point victory when they hosted Pinces Gardens. Well done, to both Blues and Yellows, you really are flying the club flag high right now!
