Ottery Crickets travelled to Tavistock looking to consolidate on their second position in the league.

The away team started the strongest and took an early lead when some neat Crickets' interplay down the left wing enabled Jack Pritchard to rifle a shot into the top corner from a tight angle.

Crickets added a second within minutes when more good build up on the left enabled Pritchard to cross for Will Ellison to calmly slot the ball past the goalkeeper from close range.

Crickets suffered a scare midway through the first half, when goalkeeper Jonny Thompson scuffed a clearance, but he soon recovered and made a good follow-up save.

The away team extended their lead to 3-0 when a slick short corner routine was finished off by Phil Godsif with a powerful drag flick.

As half-time approached, Nick Goode set up Pritchard for his second of the match as he rolled the ball into the bottom corner.

After the break it was Tavistock who started best, creating a few chances without finding the finish required. The second half remained fairly even-sided, yet it was Crickets who scored the next goal.

Goode, in the unfamiliar position of centre-forward, added the fifth goal, rounding the keeper and passing into the empty goal.

Soon after, a skilful run by Goode ended with a cheeky flick over the advancing keeper to cap a brace for the new-found striker and a deserved 6-0 win for the Crickets.
