Sidmouth and Ottery girls Under-12s travelled to Plymouth to play in a Devon tournament last weekend, writes Liz Seward.
In cold conditions the team came up against some strong opposition.
However, despite being without a regular goal keeper, the girls did exceptionally well to win three of their four group matches.
That was sufficient to book them a semi-final place, but by this time on the day the arctic conditions were taking their toll and they lost their final two matches to Marjon and Ashmoor.
Considering the girls played without a goalie this was a great achievement to achieve what was a fourth place finish in the competition.
