SOHC ladies IV bounced back from a narrow defeat the week before against Okehampton to deservedly see off Dart III by the odd goal in three.

The visitors were clearly an experienced side and were quickly into their stride. SOHC were forced to defend deeply, something they did very well and when the solid back line of Cath Vincent, Caren Flicker and Jo Elliott was breached goalkeeper Charlotte Brodie made some superb saves, beaten just once as Dart led a narrow interval lead.

The half-time chat focussed on increasing the tempo of attacks to get the most of the fire power the team had in their ranks.

The players responded to the prompting and the midfield trio of Norma Rich, Maggie Heal and Flora Hastie combined well to get quality ball up to strikers Aimee Keast and Teresa Grabauskas came close to levelling the score. Nell Garland also made some good runs with the ball.

It was no more than the team deserved when Jane Roberts rifled the ball home from a short corner and late in the game she repeated the action to seal a much needed success for the team.
