Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club (SOHC) men’s fifth team could be crowned South East Three champions this weekend without striking a ball in anger.
That’s because the only side that could yet deny them the title, Isca E, are in action in a ‘must win’ fixture at Bridgwater D.
It’s Isca E’s penultimate fixture and, if they win, would set up a thrilling ‘winner-takes-all’ meeting with SOHC for the divisional top honour.
In their three previous games this season, Isca E have been held by Bridgwater D in both meetings in Exeter, but they did thrash the Somerset side 7-1 on their visit earlier in the campaign.
