Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club (SOHC) men’s second team bagged their first win of the Southern Two season with a 4-0 home win over West Dorset.
There was just the one goal between the sides at the break, but, after an inspiring interval chat, then team came out firing in the second half and racked up a further four goals in just six minutes.
The visitors hit back with two late goals, but SOHC were not to be denied and their first win, at the 12th time of asking, saw them climb off the foot of the table and they head into the festive break sitting two points above new basement side Tavistock A.
The second team return to action on Saturday, January 13 with a trip to OPM.
