Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club (SOHC) sent a young Under-12 side to Torquay to play in a tournament.
The youngsters put on a great show of teamwork, valiant tackling, strongly defended short corners and some excellent distribution up the wings.
The net result of the team’s efforts was two wins, a draw and just the one defeat from their four matches.
In terms of individual performances, special mention must go to Tom Rosewarne, who stepped up to keep goal, and did so very well, and also to Sam Gammon for his excellent shift in the defence.
Thanks are also due to Naomi Gammon, who travelled with the team as umpire.
