Tipton St John 3, Colyton 0 Tipton went into this Match against bottom of the table Colyton knowing that a victory was vital if they were to avoid a bottom three finish in the Fresha League Division One, writes Richard Williams.

They started much brighter than in their last game and the first chance fell to Jake Freeman on nine minutes when his header went straight to the keeper.

Two minutes later Tipton took the lead with a shot from the edge of the area by Lee Strawbridge, which gave the keeper no chance.

It was not until the 22nd minute that Colyton had their first chance but their player shot well wide of the Tipton goal.

Eight minutes later Strawbridge had a header which went straight to the keeper.

A minute later Neil Gooding put a fine ball into the box which a Colyton defender almost knocked into his own net, the ball going just wide for a corner. From the corner Kev Sexton blasted a shot just over the bar.

On 35 minutes Strawbridge did well cutting in from the left before hitting a fine shot which the keeper did well to save.

A minute later Curt Winchcombe did well, battling for the ball before shooting just wide.

Two minutes later Tipton keeper, Jack Walker, hit a long kick which Nick Feeney latched onto before trying to lob the keeper, but the keeper did well to reach it at full stretch above his head.

The second half started in the same manner with Tipton on top and after 55 minutes Strawbridge did well on the left before crossing to Feeney, whose shot was blasted high.

Four minutes later Strawbridge again did well on the left cutting into the area and hitting a shot with the outside of his left foot which went just wide of the far post.

On 65 minutes Tipton got their second goal. Jake Freeman did superbly well to win the ball in defence before playing a great through ball beating the Colyton defence before Strawbridge latched onto it out muscling a defender and then running with the ball from 35 yards out before going round the advancing keeper and slotting the ball home with his left foot.

Four minutes later Tipton again went close when they did well to pin Colyton in their defensive quarter before Matt Daley won the ball and laid it off to Feeney whose shot went just wide.

On 72 minutes from a throw in on the left Strawbridge laid the ball onto Daley whose header was saved.

On 88 minutes Daley was involved again when he had a shot which went wide.

Two minutes later Phil Paddison hit a fine shot which the keeper did brilliantly to save.

In the first minute of added on time Strawbridge received a fine pass from Neil Gooding and shot just wide but a minute later he deservedly got his third goal of the game with a close range shot.

This just confirmed him as Man of the Match, not just for his three goals but for a great all round strikers performance leading the Tipton attack.
