Sidmouth ladies’ made a flying start to their Lane League campaign earlier this week, writes Susie Bonnell.
This competition involves two teams playing at home, whilst two teams play at their opponents’ club at the same time.
Wednesday’s meetings with Exonia ended in a 114-84 success for Sidmouth. The ‘all-round’ success for the ladies means they begin their bid for Lane glory with a maximum haul of 10 points.
There was a slight complication in working out the scores, as Exonia struggled to field full teams, for a variety of reasons, playing a triple on three of the four games, resulting in a 25 per cent penalty on their final overall score.
