With incessant rain following Christmas, the course dried out enough for the Sidmouth golf winter competitions to get underway at last.

The Sunday League resumed with a Texas scramble format and it was a close-run thing at the top with the first three teams all scoring 55. Winners were Martyn Crockett, Hugh Dorliac and Jamie Souttar, with Jon Evans, Lee Pratt and Anthony Griffiths taking second spot from Ian Jones, Steve Harper-Smith and Peter Basnett in third.

The Monday Stableford was won by Steve Nunn on 39, just ahead of Paul Renken on 38. Sandy Hughes picked up third in the club competition, whilst Steve and Paul also took the top prizes in the senior competition, with Brian Skittrall and David Hall taking the minor places.

The senior's Eclectic table sees Steve Nunn leading after 8 rounds on nett 54, ahead of Mike Davis on 56 and Lester Willmington on 57.
