Sidbury Utd 1, East Budleigh 1 Sen OneTwo points dropped at home to East Budleigh has left Sidbury's position at the top of the table looking very precarious. The result was probably a fair reflection of the game but Sidbury will be the more frustrated at the chances that were missed to seal all the points. Sidbury's goal came from the fiery Dan Norman following a mix-up in the East Budleigh defence after 15 minutes. The goal looked to have given his side the confidence to go on and add to their total and, when James Beverley neatly turned his marker inside the penalty area and chipped a delightful effort towards the top corner, they thought they had but, unfortunately, Beverley's effort hit the bar.The second half saw the visitors start the better of the two and they were soon level after 50 minutes when a deflected shot left keeper Will Allan with no chance. Sidbury just about weathered the pressure and began to turn the game in their favour. The chances that were created in the last 20 minutes should have seen them win. Beverley hit the side netting when perhaps a strike across the keeper would have been the better option. He then turned provider, heading down for Paul Beacham but his effort sailed agonisingly wide. The last chance which should have won the game was when Beverley was put through with an excellent pass from Lee Withecombe, with only the keeper to beat. His shot went just wide of the near post. The draw was a fair result but Sidbury must be ruing a host of missed chances that could have kept the chasing pack at bay.Star man for Sidbury was Keiron Fayter-Small rated 9 out of 10Manager Mel Coombs said: "I was pleased we were creating plenty of chances. James Beverley is here to score goals and he was a bit unlucky. We have Dean Goddard to come back in and Matt Rasmussen so I'm still quite optimistic.
