Torbay 1, Sidmouth HC ladies’ 1st XI 6

Following on from the midweek cracker, Taryn Beuthin put six goals past Torbay in an ill-tempered match, writes Sara Roberts.

Sidmouth were 2-0 up by half time but cracks appeared in the Torbay squad as both defence and discipline broke down. As in their previous meeting, a Torbay forward caused the mood of the match to sour. To their dismay, it was a Sidmouth player who was sinbinned first, for reasons that shall remain a mystery. Less than five minutes later Sidmouth were down to nine as the umpires struggled and failed to take control of events on the pitch. Some form of calm returned as the Torbay troublemaker was also sent off.

If they are to get a result at home on Saturday against league contenders Bude, Sidmouth will need all their and shape and team work.

With Beuthin on great form, Sidmouth need to take advantage, tighten up in midfield and defend for their lives! 12.30 pushback Primley Park.
