Tipton welcomed a new touring side, Bathampton from North Somerset. The visitors batted first and faced good bowling by David Birch and, in particular, Owen Smith who bowled eight overs, taking 1-10.
Opening batsman John Lewis scored 44 before being bowled by Amelia Tolley, who also trapped MacAuley LBW.
Number 3 James Painter was beginning to dominate the Tipton bowlers, despite Phil Wright taking two wickets with consecutive balls. Painter continued his onslaught with the aid of runners, and reached his century, as Bathampton closed on 205-6.
Unfortunately for the Tipton batsman, the visitors had plenty of good bowlers, who kept the pressure on, as the run rate required got larger.
A partnership of 39 by Phil Tolley and Matt Brewster (11) was eclipsed when Dave Alford Joined Tolley. Both made half centuries and Lev Konar added a cameo 14 with 3 boundaries, but Tipton finished 26 runs short on 170-9.
Next Saturday, Tipton entertain another Somerset side from Shepton Montague.
